The reception will be held at Iwate Kokaido in Morioka on 16th June. The Iwate Kokaido is a artistic and historical building which was built in 1927 to celebrate the marriage of the Showa Emperor.

The banquet will be held at Hotel Metropolitan in Morioka on 17th June. Delicious dishes and drinks will be set out for the participants.

Date: Afternoon, 18th June
Excursion departs from the conference center, right after the session ends and returns to Morioka Station (close to the conference center) at around 6:00 PM.
Try the local specialty of Nanbu-soba noodle in a traditional restaurant.
Stroll through the Japanese garden that dates back to 1669 and experience the art of Japanese tea ceremony.
Visit the sake-making facility of local brewer that produces Japanese sake wine using the modern and the traditional methods. The tour includes sake tasting.
Every year, on the second Saturday of June, a parade of about 100 colorfully adorned horses march through the city. Bells are attached to the horses and ring as they walk from the Sozen Shrine in Takizawa Village to Hachiman Shrine in Morioka. The parade opens the summer festival season. You can see the festival if you arrive in Japan early.

The Yoichi is a farmer's market which has many small shops on a street in Morioka and it is held every Saturday from April to December. In the market, there are fresh vegetables, foods, drinks, souvenirs and so on. You can take a look at the market if you stay in Morioka one more day after the TM2010 conference.
