It takes about 2 and a half hours from Tokyo station to Morioka by the faster Tohoku Shinkansen bullet train, Hayate or Komachi. Be sure that if you took the slower Shinkansen, Yamabiko, it would take more than three hours — too long!
The following map shows the Tokyo station and the route for you to change the train from Narita Express to Tohoku Shinkansen. They have two Shinkansens; the one goes to the west, Tokai Shinkansen, and the one for the east, Tohoku Shinkansen. Be sure that you take the latter.
When you arrived from Narita to Tokyo station, you get off the train at the basement floor, B4. You need to come up to the B1 floor first by an escalator and then take another escalator to the first floor (i.e. the Ground floor). You need to walk along the corridor from platform no. 1 to platforms no.20-23, the Tohoku Shinkan-sen platforms.
